FRSC:Delta State Command,Drive to stay Alive

The Delta State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), ACM Khinde 6 has called on all Motorists and other road users across the State and the Federation to drive and stay alive as the yuletide season approach.

ACM Adeleye  stated this during  the Federal Road Safety Corps Special Marshal RS5.2, Delta State Command 2017 Sectoral  Workshop organized for all Road safety Staffs across  the State and other neighbouring states around Delta State, with theme, “Road Safety Is Not A Privilege But a Right”.
He attributed the causes of road crashes to lack of enlightenment on the parts of road users, stressing that, “As Safety Corps we have a lot to do to contribute to safety by enlighten our road users to reduce road crashes”.
“In order to reduce road crashes, we need the improvement on the road safety management, ensure that our roads are well design and safer, ensure that our vehicles have safety gadgets and always ensure that those involve in any road crashes are not neglected to die”.
“I acknowledge the sacrifice and voluntary of all special marshals. It is our duties to ensure the safety of  our people that will come home this festive period.
This period, we need to commit ourselves to the safety of our road users. “ ACM Adeleye advised the Special Marshals.
  While addressing the participants  the Zonal Commanding officer for RS 5 which includes Edo, Delta and Anambra. Rindom T. Kumven said that everybody has the right to use our roads but how we use it is a privilege that must be fulfill and matters a lot for safety purposes.
“We need to re-access ourselves in using the road. We crave the indulgence of our people to help us protect our roads for safetypurpose. We should do all we can to reduce road crashes in this yuletide season.” He said.

 On his part, the State Coordinator of FRSC, Dickson Amromawhe stated that the essence of the workshop is to enlighten Special marshals on the needs to reduce road crashes as the yuletide approaches by exercising their safety tips on highways and on every road across the State.
“Many people died on our roads than any other ailments. This is caused by some of our road users who don’t apply caution while driving. Some indulge in unlawful activities behind the wheel while driving which is referred to as distracted driving”.
He mentioned the distracted activities while driving to includes, “ eating behind the wheel, smoking, reading newspapers, breast feeding babies, making phone calls, sending and reading text messages, chatting watching videos and operating phones among others”.
“Everybody has right to used our roads but we should be safety conscious whenever we are on the road. We should remember that driving is a serious business and at such should not be mix with any other activity because it is most unsafe and least advisable to do so”. Marshal Dickson advised.
Highlight of the Workshop was a public lecture tilted; “DISTRACTED
DRIVING” presented by Engr. Harriman Isa Oyofo and investiture of
honourary Special Marshals on Deacon Chris Iyovwaye CEO, Wellman Group
of Company, Mrs. Dorcas Mojisola Oguntoyinbo, Proprietress Hilltop
School, Pastor Tony Mene, CEO Esiton Waters and Rize FM 106.7, Mr. Sam
