(New+ Video)DESOPADEC WORKERS PROTEST ALLEGED OPPRESSION BY BOARD



Workers of the Delta state Oil Producing Areas Development Commission  DESOPADEC  have commenced protest against what they term oppression and marginalization by the board of the Commission.

The workers who barricaded entrance to the Commission on Monday carrying placards with various inscriptions  alleged that the current board has for the past two years withheld workers promotion and payments of their 13th month salary or bonus as well as other areas...

They also alleged that top members of the board have been collecting the bonus while denying the workers theirs.

Reacting to the protest  Comrade  Owen OgheneroEdafe, media assistant chairman of  Commission  Williams Makinde, reiterated the commitment of governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Olorogun Makinde to the welfare of the  workers.
He also disclosed that talks are currently going on with leadership of worker's various unions  and pleaded with them to return to work while their grievance's are being addressed...
