(Video+News)Premium Steel Company Udu, Foundry plant, set for motor spare parts production -Kpomah

The Foundry section of Premium Steel Company formally Delta Steel Company DSC in Udu LGA ,Delta state, Nigeria is set to commerce production and molding of various motor spare parts. (Watch chief Kpoma speak) In an interview with TheLivePen, immediate past chairman of Udu Local Government Area, Chief Solomon Kpomah said the foundry section is ready  for production the moment it starts receiving raw materials from the rolling mill. He also said the DSC main plant will in coming days commence the  production of  re-enforced triple steel rods, which is used for the construction of skyscrapers and other mega structures. The former council added currently Premium Steel company in the only plant in Africa with the capacity to produce reenforced triple steel rods. Kpomah asserted that with  the imminent commencement of activities in the plant, the economy of Udu, Warri and environs will experience a lift.

JOINT PRESS STATEMENT BY THE IJAW YOUTH COUNCIL (IYC) WORLDWIDE AND THE URHOBO PROGRESS UNION (UPU) YOUTH WING CALLING FOR PEACE BETWEEN ALADJA AND OGBE-IJOH COMMUNITIES OF DELTA STATE AND FOR GOVERNMENT TO TAKE ACTION TOWARDS RESTORING PEACE The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide and the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Youth Wing (Ighele) have called for peace between Aladja Community in Udu Local Government Area and the Ogbe-Ijoh Community in Warri South West Local Government Area, all of Delta State. Aladja, an Urhobo Community and Ogbe-Ijoh, an Ijaw Community have been engulfed in communal crisis over land which has claimed several lives with properties worth millions of naira destroyed. The socio-economic activities in the two communities have also been paralyzed. The IYC and the UPU (Youth Wing) in a joint press statement signed by their Presidents; Messrs Eric Omare and Nicholas Omoko called on the two warring communities to adopt dialogue as a means of resolving the dispute instead...

Chairman of Uvwie local government area Delta state, Ramson Onoyake has constituted Revenue, sub committees for the  year 2018 alongside a new  Effrun Market and mobile stickers sub committees. Delta Gov Okowa sack Health commissioner

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has reshuffled his cabinet as he sacked two Commissioners,  the commissioner for Health, Dr Nicholas Azinge as well as his Art and Culture counterpart, Mr. Daniel Okenyi. In a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government Hon. Festus Ovie Agas said  the minor re-shufflement of the membership of the State Executive Council takes effect from today 8th February, 2018.  In this regard, Dr. Nicholas Azinge and Chief Dan Okenyi are no longer members of the Executive Council.  The statement furthermore added that some of the members of the Council have been redeployed as  follows:  1. Rights Lawyer and former member of the All Progressive Congress APC, Robinson Ariyo says level of disorganization within the APC from the Delta State chapter to the National level is alarming. In an Interview in Warri ,Ariyo  said the party has not just disappointed Nigerians who voted it into power in 2015 but has also dragged the nation backwards. According to him in-house squabbles, back stabbing and mediocrity within the APC  especially in Delta state is frightening. POOR CONSTRUCTION: Contractors set for sanction in Delta.

House Committee on Works, Delta State House of Assembly  has resumed investigations on the failures of some major roads projects executed by Deux Company, ULO company amongst others on DLA road, Ezenei Avenue, dualization of effurun/Osubi road, Federal college road and the Asaba international airport project. The Chairman, House Committee on works, Hon Evance  Ivwurie at the committee season at the State Assembly Complex said it was pitiable that the state haven paid over N3.6 billion yet suffer as a result of contractors who mean no good for the state. The Committee Chairman, however said that the investigation was not to witch hunt anybody, but to ensure that Deltans get the very best from their common wealth and also to checkmate the roles of the Ministry of Works as concerns these projects. Effurrun Army Barracks Land Dispute: Reps hand ultimatum to Army

The House of Representatives Public Petitions committee has handed the Nigerian Army 72 hours to produce the land documents and plan  for the 333 battalion Army Barracks, Effurrun, Delta State. Following a public hearing in Abuja on Wednesday President General of Uvwie Kingdom Chief Austin Ukwurere in a telephone interview on Thursday said the land dispute between the kingdom and the Army will soon be resolved as the committee is set to submit its report. Recall that the Kingdom accused the army of annexing and selling lands outside the area originally giving to it by the kingdom.
