APBN CALLS FOR "A CONFERENCE OF DELTA STATE PEOPLE"

The Association of professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) Delta state Chapter has called for a ,"conference of Delta state People" where Deltans will sit down and discuss issues affecting them and how to resolve them.

Speaking to newsmen at the end of the APBN Board of Directors (BOD) Meeting held at the NIS Secretariat in Effurun, Delta state at the weekend, State chairman of APBN ,John O Alkpokpo Martins Esq said the body is no longer comfortable with issues of double taxation and extortion in the state,which has worsened the ease of doing business.
He said "the BOD is made up of all professionals body operating in delta state and we hold our meetings  three (3) times in a year. One of the aims and objectives of this professionals  body is to ensure, that the society in which we live is good and a better, it is our duty to enhance the development of  Delta State.
Things are not getting normal, but wilder, September, last year we held a conference on how Delta State can be best for the people, even without petrol.
And now we are also suggesting to government that we need what we call " a conference of Delta State people",  where we will sit down and deliberate on how we want Delta State to grow.
This Association is not about party, even if it is DPO, APC, SDP that is in government, we don’t want to know.
Our interest is how Delta State can be best for it’s people. A blue print of what Delta people want.
If  you look at the whole of the State, you will see abandoned project everywhere,what about the issue of double taxation and thogry ?If you buy a piece of land, some people will tell you if you don’t pay some  amount of money you  won't be allowed to build.
If you want to develop your land, if you don’t pay money, the local government boys will come and  beat you up, nobody will say anything.
Those of us who are here don’t have any place to go many people and business have out of Delta State and we cannot remain like this.
So that is why we wan’t to hold that conference and talk to ourselves.It’s not easy to make Government listing to you but will do our best.

Rights Lawyer and former member of the All Progressive Congress APC, Robinson Ariyo says level of disorganization within the APC from the Delta State chapter to the National level is alarming. SSS DG REPLACEMENT: IYC SAYS IT IS SECTIONALISM TAKEN TOO FAR

The attention of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) worldwide have been drawn to multiple newspaper reports to the effect that the Presidency is shopping for the replacement of the new Director General of the State Security Services, Mr. Matthew Seiyefa as a result of some reforms embarked upon by the new SSS DG who was appointed less than one month ago.  It was also reported that the Presidency through the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari has ordered Mr. Seiyefa in a letter dated August 30, 2018 to reverse some of the postings that were done and not to taken any further action towards repositioning the security agency without the approval of the Presidency.
